Mungkin selepas saya tiada lagi,” katanya dalam nada bergurau ketika menjawab soalan daripada hadirin pada persidangan ‘Revisiting Vision 2020’ di Hotel Nikko, di sini, semalam.

KUALA LUMPUR – Cadangan membina bangunan Warisan Merdeka setinggi 100 tingkat hanya akan meningkatkan lambakan hartanah dan ruang pejabat seperti yang sedang berlaku di Lembah Klang pada masa ini.

Bekas Perdana Menteri, Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad berkata, ketika Malaysia sedang berusaha menuju Wawasan 2020, adalah lebih baik menyalurkan peruntukan ke arah perkara yang lebih penting.

“Kalau anda bertanya pendapat saya, saya ingin biarkan Menara Berkembar Petronas kekal sebagai yang tertinggi di Malaysia. Kita tak perlukan menara lain yang lebih tinggi daripada itu.


Menurutnya, pandangan tersebut berbeza dan mungkin berat sebelah kerana Menara Berkembar Petronas adalah projek yang dibina semasa pemerintahannya.

Terdahulu, Mahathir menggesa kerajaan merujuk pandangan rakyat berhubung cadangan projek pembinaan bangunan Warisan Merdeka.

“Mereka boleh bina, tetapi bukan sekarang, mungkin kemudian... apabila saya tiada lagi,” katanya dalam nada bergurau.

Katanya, rancangan pembinaan menara itu merupakan projek yang baik untuk negara kerana boleh menambahkan peluang pekerjaan dan meningkatkan taraf ekonomi rakyat.

"Selain itu ia akan mencetuskan peluang-peluang perniagaan di kalangan syarikat-syarikat yang terdapat di negara ini," katanya.

Round Ireland with a Fridge (2010) -mediafire

The film has a really rounded-story feel to it, leaving you feeling as if you have seen a complete story which is rare nowadays as most people are hoping for a sequel! It was a warming film about a guy (who’s nice in real life!), a bet with his mate and a fridge (an obvious must for a film about hitchhiking!) with loads of good gags in it. I can imagine the fun it would be to be in the room with Tony Hawks and Ed Bye as they write the jokes! During the credits you’ll see that quite a lot of the lovely music throughout the film was actually done by Tony Hawks himself which is quite impressive and just goes to show how much personal effort has gone into the film, and it shows.

A group of children spending the holidays in a summer resort village are playing in the woods when they make a most unsettling discovery: A woman dressed in a Santa Claus outfit is trapped at the bottom of a very deep well. Upon approaching the local police for help, the kids discover that the stuck Santa is actually a dangerous thief who has recently disappeared following a daring heist. According to the cops she made off with a substantial amount of cash, a revelation that prompts the kids to go back to the well and begin bargaining in monetary terms. Should the thief give up her will give up the cash, say the kids, they will help her out of the well. It seemed like a straightforward plan, but once they had the cash in hand the kids find themselves reluctant to follow through on their end of the bargain - who's to say that she won't snatch the cash right back and kill them all once she gets free anyway? While they make the decision not to free the woman, they return to the well day after day to feed her and look after her. With each passing day the woman's forced captivity begins to more closely resemble torture, her body weakening due to a steady diet of children's food and her mind growing unhinged due to the grimness of her situation. Then, one day, the children return to find the well empty. Santa is coming for them, but this year instead of waiting by the chimney they'll be running for their lives.
